Airport Board Chairman Chosen
Wheeling/Prospect Hts., IL (September 19, 2005) Palwaukee Municipal Airport is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin J. Dohm as the first Chairman of the newly created Palwaukee Municipal Airport Board of Directors. Mr. Dohm has already begun his duties and will chair his first board meeting this Wednesday night at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be held in the public-meeting room at the airport manager's office off Industrial Lane. This Wednesday's meeting will also be the first for the new airport Board of Directors as a whole.
Mr. Dohm brings a wealth of aviation and business experience to his new role at Palwaukee. Dohm has been a line pilot for United Airlines since 1989 and has served as captain on the Airbus A320 since 2000. A former charter and corporate pilot, as well as a certified flight instructor, he has served as president of Triple D Holdings, a privately held Illinois real estate and small business acquisitions corporation.
Mr. Dohm also has considerable personal familiarity with Palwaukee Airport since his first airplane ride here in a Piper Cub in 1965. During his first day on the job, Dohm said, "Flying from Palwaukee has been a large part of my life and I'm very familiar with the operation of the airport. Since I bring no personal affiliations for any organization on the airport to my new job, I look forward to beginning my role as chairman with a new board and a clean slate".
"The structure and the responsibilities of the new Board of Directors are considerably different from that of the Palwaukee Municipal Airport Commission the board replaces. We'll be making new kinds of business decisions in new ways. I see myself as a facilitator to help keep everyone focused on the tasks at hand."
"I have the privilege of working closely with both an excellent airport manager in Dennis Rouleau, as well as a number of excellent directors who I will look to handle much of the day-to-day challenges of the airport. I've watched Palwaukee evolve over the years and I am very proud to have been asked to help keep the airport moving forward".
Mr. Dohm is available for additional interviews by 847-537-2580.
